We recently launched a strategy to transform our service delivery models and technology tools to be future ready. This includes innovating existing service delivery models and tools with an eye towards leveraging emerging digital approaches.

This leadership role will collaborate closely with other functional leaders in IT (PMO lead, Application Development leads, Change/Communications, Data Analytics, and Infrastructure and Operations) and across the firm working with Business Relationship Managers. This position is a manager level position and will be part of the IT leadership team, reporting directly to the Director of Solution Delivery and Support.

The Application Delivery Manager is responsible for managing the design, development, implementation, integration, and support of the organization’s assurance and tax application software. This position is also responsible for defining, documenting and implementing best practices and standards. This leadership position will oversee staff covering architecture, design, development, quality assurance as well as escalated support. This exciting opportunity includes building out this new team, including role definition, process definition, and staff development.

Your Role.

• Perform management and oversight of application architects, developers, and the production support team, while overseeing design and development tasks

• Demonstrate expertise and leadership in the area of system design and development concepts, practices, procedures, and governance

• Plan goals and objectives for the application architects, technical leads, and developers

• Ensure that all team members are performing at a high level to meet the needs of the firm; ensures appropriate metrics are collected to support the objective assessment of individual and team performance

• Mentor team members and assesses their quality, performance and effectiveness

• Perform resource administration, resource planning and resource allocation for the team and aligns demand

• Ensure that production support and break-fix work is prioritized and completed appropriately to avoid or minimize impacts to business operations and clients

• Collaborate with IT and business staff to ensure that project goals and milestones are met

• Define, document, implement, and enforce best practices for application design, development, version control, code migration, implementation, and application support

• Ensure the ability to recover the system environment to the most current operational state in a timely manner in the event of a major system problem or disaster

• Ensure data security and integrity

• Participate in work and project estimation and scheduling

• Collaborate with project managers on project planning and staffing

• Lead or assists with issue triage, troubleshooting, and resolution

• Assist with department budget preparation; manage budget process and monitor compliance with budget parameters

• Manage relationships with external vendors

The qualifications.

• BS/BA in Computer Science, Business, Math or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience managing and working on software development projects

• At least 2 years’ experience in large scale system implementation efforts following a standard software development lifecycle approach

• Strong process, quality assurance, incident, problem management, and general operational experience as well as experience in vendor management and/or application development & support outsourcing arrangements

• Experience working on multiple projects and activities simultaneously, and providing high level of support

• Demonstrates expertise in software development concepts, practices, and procedures

• Prior experience in professional services preferred

• Strong communication skills – both written and oral

• Possess strong interpersonal skills, influencing, negotiating and critical thinking

• This position requires approximated 20% travel, which accounts for spending time with business leadership, conferences and working with strategic technology vendors
