Position Summary:

  • Controllership functions for the P&M Holding Group, LLP and Affiliated Entities.
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion and distribution of the P&M Holding Group, LLP and Affiliated Entities financial statements and management reports
  • Responsible for highly complex technical accounting issues and compliance requirements related to financial reporting and management information for USA operations
  • Responsible for highly complex technical accounting issues and compliance requirements related to financial reporting and management information for International operations
  • Coordinates firm-wide financial analysis, financial presentations and communication to internal clients  
  • Serves in an advisory role to direct and indirect reports for financial issues regarding P&M entities and international operations  
  • Oversight of the Firm’s planning process.  Reviews the final firm profit plan and enhances how the team provides management information to partners and staff
  • Support/leadership with mergers and practice acquisitions including due diligence and integration
  • Presentation of key financial information to the Management Team, Policy Committee and Partners as required
  • Understanding of the Firms Practice Management and Accounting Systems 
  • Able to lead and manage other Financial Reporting Managers including being responsible for development of staff, career planning meetings, completion of PPA’s, Compass Forms and Annual Wrap-up Forms and handling of performance issues and training

  • Working with various Financial Reporting Managers to assure timely distribution of accurate financial reporting information. 
  • Development, training and the management of direct reports and staff
  • Provide growth opportunities to develop staff into stronger performers and the ability to raise the bar on staff performance levels
  • Training of managers to be strong leaders and supervisors
  • Transfer knowledge, ownership and accountability down to direct reports and objectively evaluate performance
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff 
  • Serves as a positive role model in all interactions
  • Responsible for Compass sessions for direct reports – Minimum 2 per annum for direct reports. One by 11/30 and one by 3/31.  Also will be an advisory team member on other Financial Reporting senior and staff accountants.

Monthly Reporting

Final Review of the Following:

  • Charge Hours Flash Report
  • Realization Report
  • Top Sheet with commentary
  • Entity General Review
  • International Review
  • Variance & trend analysis on actual vs. plan results
  • Create analysis of key financial business metrics
  • Firm Statements
  • Industry Statements
  • Consulting Statements
  • Office Statements
  • Entity Statements
  • Quarterly Entity Review (required)
  • Financial Statement Package due to CFO
  • Distribute financial information and analysis
  • Communicate to CFO and Management Team significant accounting or business issues
  • Review Financial Reports on Secure Zone
  • Preparation for presentations to summarize an annualize financial information
  • Monitoring Net Capital for Broker Dealer Entities

Quarterly Reporting

  • Quarterly package with MP memo to CFO within 5 days after monthlies are issued
  • Review (prepare as necessary) the work paper binder
  • Prepare schedule of major quarterly/year-end adjustments
  • Distribution of financial statement to partners
  • Review of financial information for quarterly bank covenants
  • SEC reporting Focus Filings

Periodic Reporting

  • Prepare presentations for partner and associate meetings.
  • Review firm surveys and review with CFO, GMP and MP

Annual Reporting

·           Oversee SEC rules and regulations for Broker Dealer entities including but not limited to annual audits, net capital computations, focus filings and other FINOP responsibilities

Annual Financial Plan Responsibilities

  • Final review of final profit plan rollup from OMP plans, C&I Plans, Department Plans and roll up to P&M Holding Group, LLP  
  • Final review of plan projection model for May Policy Committee Meeting
  • Final Review of plan spread
  • Timely completion of Firm Administration , Facility and Accounting Plan

Other Financial Reporting Responsibilities

  • On-going focus and attention to cost reduction and analysis.
  • Other projects as assigned

Tax Return Responsibilities

  • Provide support to assure completion of all workpapers needed to prepare the P&M Holding Group, LLP tax return with a due date of September 30th.
  • Review of all Entity level tax returns for PMT, PMCF, CRESA and PMGBA II and others as needed.
  • Support preparation of state and local tax returns as needed

Other Requirements

  • CPA Required
  • Tax Experience a Definite Plus
  • Licensed FINOP Certification needs to be attained
  • Qualified individuals must either reside in or near the Southfield, MI area or be willing to relocate to the area for this opportunity.
  • This position may require some local travel.
