Health & Welfare Benefit Analyst

Count on us. Plante Moran Group Benefits Advisors II (PMGBA II), an affiliated entity of Plante & Moran, PLLC (PM), provides consulting and brokerage services to help clients create cost effective, sustainable employee health and welfare benefit plans, and attract and retain talent.  Our rapid growth and increasing demands for our services has created a need for a highly motivated individual to join PMGBA II as an Account Manager.

Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Learn and utilize accepted underwriting and pricing methods to assist in developing estimated insured and self-insured benefit plan rates/funding levels for employer-sponsored plans
  • Develop renewal plan pricing recommendations
  • Responsible for managing vendor RFPs, and assisting senior staff with vendor pricing negotiations
  • Collect and maintain carrier data for analytics and price determination
  • Use statistically credible rating methodologies to develop prospective rates and conduct benchmarking analytics
  • Assist with the development of client presentation materials
  • Research and gain competency in IRS, DOL, and ERISA compliance and other regulatory requirements affecting plan costs and operations

The qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in actuarial sciences, business, economics, risk management, or math
  • 2+ years of health and welfare benefits experience
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex calculations and perform detailed analytic work
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking
  • Willingness to work/interact with experienced professionals who are interested in delivering high-quality, timely client deliverables while helping grow a talented and dedicated staff
  • Strong technical skills in the MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)

Salary Class 

Salary
We are pleased to offer eligible staff a robust benefits package. Eligibility and contribution requirements for some of these benefits vary based on the number of hours staff work per week. Highlights include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance. These standard offerings are effective on the first of the month following your start date. In addition to this, eligible staff are able to take advantage of our Flexible Time Off and various pre-determined holidays as well as a 401(k) plan, flexible benefits plans, business-related travel expense, lodging and meal reimbursement for business-related use. A Pension plan is also available for eligible administrative and paraprofessional staff. A discretionary bonus plan is available for eligible staff. Plante Moran also offers Interns and Contractors the option to elect health insurance under our contingent staff medical plan as of the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment in addition to limited paid time sick time. Seasonal staff are not eligible for benefits. 

Compensation is commensurate with technical skills and experience is provided in accordance with applicable state requirement. Compensation information posted is based on a position being located in the state of CO or IL. Please review the position location for the applicable geographic location.

Colorado monthly base range is as follows: 

$5,416.67 to $6,833.34
