Your role.

Your work will include, but not be limited to:  

  • Lead internal inspection programs designed to evaluate the efficacy of the tax department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain Department Quality Manual and champion new policies.
  • Consistently communicate to raise awareness of and compliance with professional and legal standards.
  • Monitor, review, and interpret impact on the Firm of new accounting/reporting regulations or proposals promulgated by various professional and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain working and advisory knowledge of regulatory and ethical standards applied to the tax practice.
  • Close interaction with specialty tax practices, industry group leaders to manage emerging risk issues.
  • Interact with Tax Education Committee and develop and maintain tools and templates to improve the effectiveness of the tax compliance practice.

·       The qualifications.

  • 6+ years recent tax experience in public accounting.
  • CPA or JD required.
  •  Ability to analyze new IRS rules and effectively communicate guidance and training.
  • Qualified individuals must either reside near or be willing to relocate near a Plante Moran office.  Frequent travel throughout the region, with approximately 25% overnight travel is required.
