Plante Moran Realpoint, LLC (PMR), is looking for a motivated and experienced Development/Project Manager to become a valuable member of our growing team. PMR, an affiliate entity of Plante Moran, PLLC provides fully integrated real estate services exclusively to corporations and institutional organizations. This role involves spearheading the development and execution of multimillion dollar commercial real estate projects for our clients. We are seeking a tenured individual with an entrepreneurial spirit excited to lean into early feasibility & project planning to advance development services provided to clients. The perfect candidate will possess a background in real estate development, construction facilitation, and project management. While based out of our Southfield, MI office, this role will be on the ground working with clients at their site 1-2 days a week, with occasional overnight travel (up to 25%).
Your role.
Your work will include, but not be limited to:
- Collaborate in development and implementation of real estate projects for our clients by developing comprehensive approaches, timelines, budgets, programs and logistics plans. Coordinate with multiple clients, stakeholders, and third parties to meet project goals.
- Select and lead teams of architects, engineers, contractors, analysts, operators and lending institutions to execute large scale developments from project ideation to completion.
- Steer project budgets, timelines, and deliverables to align perfectly with client needs, while enhancing the relationship and fostering strong connections.
- Manage preconstruction process by overseeing design and construction teams for compliance to budget, schedule and program.
- Oversee construction process by tracking progress and continuously monitoring contractors and vendors to ensure projects are successfully completed.
- Provide comprehensive oversight of all project aspects, including design, construction, legal, and financial elements.
- Identify and mitigate areas of risks associated with developments through contractual management.
- Regularly report to clients & stakeholders through routine reporting and communication for progress and risk issues.
The qualifications.
- Engineering Degree, Architecture Degree or Construction Management Degree from an accredited college or university
- 10-15 years development, owner’s representation, design or construction fields
- Experience working for an Owner's Facility Team or as a consultant is preferred. Construction cost estimating experience is desirable.
- Proficient in MS Word & Excel; Project and/or Primavera Scheduling Software.
- Qualified individuals must either reside in or near Metro Detroit or be willing to relocate for this opportunity
- Travel throughout the region, with approximately 30% overnight travel
